WILLS

For those of us with assets, it is of utmost importance to have a will.  A will is intended to transfer property that you hold in your name to the person or organization that you want to receive it after you die. Without a will, the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania determine who will receive your assets.   The Law Offices of Jermaine Harris has extensive experience in preparing wills so you can be sure that your assets will be distributed to those persons who you want to receive them.

POWER OF ATTORNEY

A power of attorney is a very important document to have in the event that you need a loved one to act on your behalf to conduct your affairs (i.e. paying bills, sign documents, specifying medical treatment) should you be unable to.  The Law Office of Jermaine Harris has extensive experience in preparing power of attorneys so you can allow your loved one to act on your behalf without causing you to unnecessarily forfeit control of your affairs.

ADULT GUARDIANSHIP

Sometimes an adult family member is incapable, either due to age or physical infirmities, of managing his own affairs and a court appointed guardian must be appointed to ensure his safety.   The Law Office of Jermaine Harris assists family members with obtaining permission from the Court to serve as guardian and can help you with filing a petition for guardianship for a loved one.

PROBATE

After a death occurs, the Law Office of Jermaine Harris works with families and heirs to ensure that the wishes and plans of the deceased are carried out.   We advise executors and personal representatives of estates during the probate process, and our firm also works with the families of those who have died without a will or estate plan in place.
